Professional Teeth Cleaning: Your Gateway to Great Dental Health

Cavities are one of the most common problems among children and adults, but they’re entirely preventable if you take care of your oral health. Preventive care can keep your teeth and gums healthy throughout your life. That’s why we recommend you schedule dental checkups with our team on a regular basis.

Dr. Lofti, Dr. Lawrence, and our dental team at Smile Country Dental in Santa Rosa or Napa, California, provide professional teeth cleanings and guidance on how to keep your oral health at its peak performance.

Our professional teeth cleanings offer one of the best ways to care for your mouth.

Professional teeth cleaning explained

When you come in for your annual teeth cleaning with our team, we make sure you feel invited and welcome in our relaxed setting. You can immediately feel confident in your visit, knowing our team uses the most advanced technology on the market to give you the best experience.

As you sit comfortably in our dental chair, we look at your gums and teeth to make sure we don’t see anything out-of-the-ordinary. We then remove plaque and tartar from your teeth, using a small mirror and tool. This process only takes about 10 minutes and won’t cause any pain.

Once you don’t have any more plaque or tartar, we apply fluoride toothpaste to a high speed, electric toothbrush and brush your teeth. Our toothpaste has a gritty texture to brush off any missed debris and polish your teeth.

We then floss your teeth, reaching in between each tooth to remove any additional plaque, toothpaste, or particles that might still be there. You can then rinse your mouth.

You can also receive a fluoride treatment to protect your teeth from getting cavities. We also provide sealants for children and adults that we apply to the grooves of your teeth to prevent decay from developing.

You should schedule cleanings twice a year. You can expect us to take X-rays at one of those appointments.

Additional steps for your oral health

To continue good oral hygiene, we encourage you to brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss daily. We can demonstrate how to do this to help you understand the proper way to take care of your teeth and gums when you’re at home.

To schedule your professional teeth cleaning with our team, contact us by calling either one of our Santa Rosa or Napa locations today. You can also schedule your appointment online. If you have any questions, please feel free to send our team a message. We look forward to seeing you!
